About the method and disclaimer
A reflective BaZi-inspired lens
YUAN translates a calculated Four Pillars chart into modern language for reflection. It offers interpretations and prompts, not a verdict about who you are or what will happen.
How a reading is made
YUAN uses the birth date, time, selected time zone, and an approximate birthplace match to calculate a BaZi chart with Four Pillars, a Day Master, and Five Elements relationships. The current implementation uses the lunar-typescript calculation library and may apply a longitude-based true-solar-time adjustment when a location match is available.
The chart is converted into an allowlisted evidence structure. OpenAI then generates structured Free or Premium content under frozen prompts, schemas, validation, and safety rules. An optional personal question can guide the relevant reflection. AI-generated language can still be wrong, incomplete, or feel generic.
What the method cannot establish
- It cannot predict a guaranteed future, diagnose a condition, or prove a fixed personality.
- It does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, relationship, employment, or crisis advice.
- Birth-time uncertainty, time-zone selection, birthplace matching, calendar boundaries, source traditions, and interpretive choices can change a result.
- BaZi is a cultural and interpretive tradition. YUAN does not claim that its readings are scientifically validated assessments.
How to use a reading
Keep what helps you reflect, question what does not fit, and compare any important conclusion with lived evidence and qualified human advice. You remain responsible for your choices.
Founder decision needed before Production
The named methodology owner, documented chart-validation standard, treatment of uncertain or unknown birth times, cultural-source review, and final claims language have not been formally approved in the repository. These need Founder and subject-matter review before Production.
